This Writing course is taken with the corresponding History course. In this class, the students will learn more about the historical time period by developing critical thinking skills and writing analytical essays about that unique time in history. Writing skills taught include grammar, paragraph structure, steps to writing an essay, and various essay types.

Writing: Early Modern with American
Grades 9th - 12th

What effects did the renaissance and reformation have on the Modern World, especially in America? During this class, we will look at passages, poetry, and facts from the Enlightenment period and Roman and Greek philosophers and their roles in shaping the Modern World and the country we live in today. Various writing fundamentals will be taught, including grammar, essay structure, and the steps in writing persuasive and research papers. The students will also have the opportunity to develop critical thinking skills while examining these historical documents and responding with their own opinions via written essays.
